Daytona Beach, Fla. — Nearly 600 of the nation’s most talented baton twirlers will take center stage at the 2025 U.S. National Baton Twirling Championships, set for July 8–12 at the Ocean Center in Daytona Beach. Hosted by the United States Twirling Association (USTA), the event runs daily from 8 a.m. to approximately 7 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
“Baton twirling is a dynamic sport that fuses athletic precision with artistic performance,” said Anna Dolan, USTA’s Director of Communications. “These athletes showcase tremendous strength, speed, and coordination as they execute complex routines with one, two, even three or four batons. Audiences in Daytona Beach are in for a real treat.”
Male and female twirlers from across the country who range in age from five to adult will demonstrate their skills in the National Championships, which is a competition for advanced and elite athletes, as well as the Festival of the Future, a competition for novice, beginner, and intermediate athletes. In both competitions, athletes will compete in individual and group events, including:
- Solo Twirling – fast-paced routines using a single baton
- 2-Baton and 3-Baton – high-difficulty events requiring continuous motion
- Strut and Artistic Twirl – performances combining baton work with dance and gymnastics
- Group Events – synchronized displays featuring complex choreography and baton exchanges
Highlights of the National Championships include the National Collegiate Finals, featuring many of the nation’s top collegiate twirlers, which will begin at approximately 3:30 p.m. on Friday, July 11. The Collegiate Finals will be followed by the Grand National Finals, beginning at approximately 5 p.m., also on Friday, July 11. The exciting Team Finals will be held at approximately 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 12. All finals will be held in the Ocean Center and are free and open to the public.

Among the competitors are athletes from Team U.S.A., who will go on to represent the country at the World Technical Baton Twirling Championship, Nations Cup, and World Majorettes Championship, August 2–10 in Torino, Italy.
Baton twirling is more than a performance sport—it supports physical fitness, enhances flexibility, and promotes a healthy lifestyle. It’s also a tool for personal development, encouraging self-confidence, discipline, time management, and teamwork among young athletes.
This marks the eighth time Daytona Beach has hosted the National Championships. “We’re thrilled to return to the Ocean Center,” Dolan said. “Daytona Beach offers not only a top-tier competition venue but also a vibrant, family-friendly destination for our athletes and their families.”
