Memberships
USTA offers a variety of memberships to meet the needs of all athletes and professionals. Apply for or renew your membership for the 2026-27 twirling season now, so you can take advantage of all the benefits or membership, including access to competitions, insurance coverage, and certificates of insurance for professionals who need to rent facilities. Here are detailed instructions on how to renew your membership via the USTA Member Portal.

Athlete Memberships:
BASIC
Best for newer athletes who are exploring the organization’s competitions and events
Benefits:
- Compete in all disciplines at local, state and regional competitions (with restrictions)
- Compete in team/group disciplines at local, state, regional, and national competitions
- Be evaluated under CAS program
- Includes insurance & liability coverage
Restrictions: Cannot enter individual state, regional, or national championship title disciplines, US PreTrials, Athlete of the Year, or Festival of the Future at the National Championships
$15 per year
COMPETITIVE
This tier is for competitive athletes who want to compete for championship titles or participate in the National Championships
All Basic Benefits Plus:
- Compete for state, regional, and national titles in all discipline
- Compete at Festival of the Future at National Championship
- Compete in PreTrials and Athlete of the Year
- Includes insurance & liability coverage
$50 per year
INTERNATIONAL
This tier is for the elite athlete planning to compete in IBTF-sanctioned events
All Basic & Competitive Benefits Plus:
- Compete in any USA Baton Twirling qualifier and US Trials competitions
- Compete in IBTF-sanctioned competitions
- Includes insurance & liability coverage
$75 per year
*All athletes 21 and over are required to complete a background check for an additional fee
Adult memberships:
PROFESSIONAL
Designed for professionals committed to growth, leadership and excellence. This tier provides access to advanced certifications, specialized training resources, and the tools needed to elevate your impact as a coach, judge, or industry leader
- Must be USTA certified judge or USTA certified coach
- Allows participation in USTA local, state, regional and national competitions; IBTF Qualifiers; USA Tour; and USTA workshops, webinars, and conventions
- Provides $25,000 in accident medical insurance coverage and $10,000 in AD&D insurance coverage at USTA/USA Baton Twirling-sanctioned events
- Provides option to purchase a Certificate of Insurance with $2 million in general liability insurance coverage for facility rentals
- Professional members who are 18 years old or older receive voting privileges in USTA's Board of Directors elections

ALUMNI
