Congratulations to Sheri Carter, Sector 2 (Central Region), John Chamberlain, Sector 4 (Southeast Region), and Karen Cammer, 1st At-Large representative, who were re-elected to the USTA Board of Directors, during elections held Feb. 21-March 13. Thanks to the eligible Professional members who took time to vote in this important election.
Carter, Chamberlain and Cammer join current board members Tom Breuckman, Jonathan Burkin, Jason Lee and Jennifer Marcus. The new board term begins on Sept. 1, 2022.
The USTA Board of Directors consists of five sector representatives who live in the sector they represent, and two at-large board members who live in any sector. Board members are unpaid volunteers who:
- Govern the financial and organizational aspects of USTA
- Provide strategic vision for the growth of the association and the sport of baton twirling
- Work on long range planning in programming and schedules of events
- Conduct the fiscal planning and budgeting of USTA's resources
- Approve staff and department heads
USTA, which was founded in 1958, is the first national twirling organization to be run democratically and it remains the only twirling organization that elects its Board of Directors through its membership.
