USTA has implemented a new and improved membership structure that simplifies the number and types of memberships, eliminates late fees and makes it easier for new and current members to select the membership that best meets their needs.

“The Board of Directors recognized that our previous membership structure was too complex and kept some people from taking full advantage of the benefits of USTA membership, including insurance coverage, outstanding competitions and quality training programs for athletes, coaches and judges,” said USTA President Karen Cammer. “We believe the simplified membership structure will allow more people to participate in all that USTA offers.”

The new individual membership types and prices are:
Athlete - $35 annually: includes $10,000 in medical and dental insurance coverage, ability to enter USTA competitions without paying Member for a Day fees, USTA publications including News & Views, Catch It! eZines, Catch It! Winners’ Issue, and access to information and resources in the Members Only section of the USTA website.
•    Family - $25 per additional family member annually: an affordable option for additional for additional members in a twirling family. The first member must be an Athlete or Professional member.
•    Professional - $90 annually: includes $2 million in liability insurance and ability to request a Certificate of Insurance for facility rentals for Professional members who have earned Coach or Judge certification, USTA publications including News & Views and Catch It!, and access to information and resources in the Members Only section of the USTA website.
•    Alumni - $20 annually: for former athletes and their parents/other relatives, retired coaches, judges and anyone interested in supporting the sport of baton twirling. Alumni members receive USTA publications including News & Views, Catch It! eZines, Catch It! Winners’ Issue.  (This membership type does not include the privilege of entering competitions, insurance coverage or Professional voting privileges.)
For groups, the new membership type and price is:
•    Organization – There is no longer a Team/Organization base fee. Just pay $10 per athlete annually. This membership is for athletes competing in group events and the Foundation Events of Basic, Military, Parade March and Presentation.

•    The Elite and Professional Elite membership types have been eliminated and are no longer required to participate in PreTrials or International Cup Qualifiers.
•    Late fees have been eliminated. There is only one price for each membership and that price is valid all year long.
•    The “Member for a Day” fee has been reduced to $5 and is now called a “Non-member contestant fee” to encourage non-members to give USTA competitions a try.

Starting today, current USTA members can renew their memberships for the 2018-19 season by going to the USTA website, logging into Members Only with the User ID and password they created, clicking on Renewal in the left hand menu, and following the simple steps.
If you are a twirling coach, be sure to click the box to be included in USTA’s Public Professional Listing and make sure your studio/program information is current! This information is available to people who are searching for baton twirling coaches or classes in their area, via the “Find a Coach” feature on the USTA website. Our WBTF medalists – Laney Puhalla, Savannah Miller and Adaline Bebo – have been promoting that feature and their love of baton twirling on USTA’s social media channels. Don’t miss out on this opportunity that could help you grow your baton twirling business!
