Important changes to International Cup and Grand Prix Competitions

Attention International Cup and potential Grand Prix competitors:

The WBTF Elite levels of Solo, 2-Baton and Team will be moved out of the International Cup and will take place only inside the IBTF Grand Prix competition. Therefore, all competitors wishing to compete at the Elite level in those events, will be vying for the spots in the Grand Prix Competition. The USTA will still qualify these  Elite categories via the competitive system at the 2018 International Cup selections at the National Championships in Jacksonville, Florida. Artistic Twirl, Artistic Pair and 3-Baton will be offered in conjunction with the
International Cup, as has been done in the past.

In addition, the Technical Department, with the approval of the Board of Directors, is lowering the qualifying score for the Women’s Junior 1 (12 to 14) Division and Junior Men’s Division to 16.5 (average score of 5.5) for Elite level athletes to qualify to the International Cup or Grand Prix. With the division of the Junior ages to two groups (Junior 1, ages 12-14 and Junior 2, ages 15-17), the department felt this was more achievable. The A level qualifying scores will remain the same.
